This is the traditional type of administration of an estate. Everything must be approved by the court, including the inventory of assets at the beginning and yearly and final accountings. All significant transactions must be approved, such as the sale of property and payment of bills. These days estates are usually handled with independent administration in which the court does not approve these matters. Any person with an interest in an estate can get it converted from independent supervision to supervised administration. || Back
